My head hurts, my ears hurt, my eyes hurt, my nose hurts – the only thing I am grateful for is that this mess is not in my lungs.

Sorry for putting up such a pitiful thread; but it is all I could muster to get us through the next few days.

Sorry I am just not up to speed yet. This mess is terrible and I don’t wish it on anyone. Will put up a better thread when I can get my brain to function better than it is right now.

Everyone have a great weekend and stay warm and safe out there.

(I loved the TANK story – maybe all the tears I shed will clean out my tear ducts)

  2. jrCarolinas says:

I don’t know about everyone else, but I never did get to view the full 27 mins of Dr. Carson at the National Prayer Breakfast. I only saw two videos that were much shorter. So here is the full video:

  3. Dora says:

jr thanks for giving us a new thread, even when you are feeling so sick.

I’m sorry that you are still suffering. Please take care, rest and get well soon.

If you need to stay calm in order to rest – don’t read this one.

  4. Dora says:

    Another Obama success story…

The Drakes Bay Oyster Co. has been in business for 100 years.

    Then came Barack Obama.

In November, the Obama Administration shut down the oyster farm. They said it was for environmental reasons.

  5. cjzak says:

Jr thanks for putting up a new thread. It can’t be easy when you don’t feel well. I am going to watch that whole video because I did not see all of it. Dr. Carson is an amazing person.

I cannot think about that Tank story without tearing up. Went straight to my heart.

  6. fernleygirl says:

Take good care of yourself. That should be your first priority.

Dr. Carson will be on Hannity tonight.

  7. Dora says:

Thanks Fernley. I’ll try to watch if I still have power. The wind is really whipping up here now.

First Newsweek, now Foreign Policy calls Obama ‘Second Coming’

  8. Katie says:

jr – did you feel it? I sent a virtual get well hug your way!!

Dora – keep checking in as you can so we know you’re safe. Deja vu all over again!!!

  9. Katie says:

Trip to D.C. in your future?

Calling all Gun Owners and Patriots you are cordially invited to attend the first 2nd Amendment rally at The National Mall in Washington D.C. on Saturday May 25th 2013 at Noon Eastern Time (Tentatively Pending Sponsors). We are hoping to attract up to 10 Million Gun Owners/Patriots to the National Mall for a rally to show our support for the 2nd Amendment. The 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects and insures the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

  10. jrCarolinas says:

 Katie – I must have got your hug as about the time you posted I made up my mind to run out to the store and get me a Seagrams Margarita in the little foil pouches. Already sitting here drinking it. Tired of feeling so lousy and thought it might make me feel better or should I say drink it and not feel anything for a bit.

Dora have to say what I am seeing on the news looks bad for your area throughout the night. Hope you don’t lose power in all this mess. CJ looks like you will be digging your way out tomorrow as well. Gus will have a field day. Would love to see him playing in all that snow.

I know we have all said that we didn’t think zero is the AC and I am going to hold back just a tad more until after his visit to Israel next month. But have to say it looks more and more each day that he sure has those tendencies. Also have to say that I fell in LOVE with Dr. Carson. Now why can’t we have a man like him at the helm.

  11. Katie says:

“Margarita Hugs” works for me

Dora has nasty winds for sure, but it looks like the latest shows the worst of the snow and surge to the east and north of her. Let’s hope so.

  12. cabbyaz says:

Just heard Dr. Ben Carson on Hannity. What a wonderful, unassuming, intelligent man! He said that before he gives a speech he always asks God to guide him as to what he should say. He has written a book, “America the Beautiful”, which I bet is great. When Hannity asked if he would ever consider running for President, he said only if God grabbed him by the collar…… He will be on Hannity again next week. He has received multitudes of comments, over 99% of which are favorable.

  13. fernleygirl says:

Can you imagine Dr. Carson and Col. Allen West together? What a ticket that would be.

I went to Amazon to order his book, and he has more than one title:

  14. fernleygirl says:

Well, I don’t know how the h*ll that happened!!! I linked to a page that showed all his books.

  15. fernleygirl says:

Anyone interested in getting more fit before the SHTF?

  16. cjzak says:

Hi! Just got back from a hockey game that my husband(age65), my son, my nephew and my future son in law all played in. My husband is nuts to still be playing, but he loves it so much he won’t give it up. It isn’t serious hockey and there is no checking allowed, but still pretty strenuous. Of course he is the slowest guy out there but I was surprised that he held his own and made some good plays. The younger guys are very considerate of him so it makes it fun for him. It was the first time I had seen them all play and I had a great time. My daughter and sister went to.

Very cold here and still snowing lightly. We got about a foot of snow and it was pretty wet and heavy during the day as the temp was around 30. Wasn’t fun to shovel that’s for sure. Yes Mr. Gus is having a ball in it. He will be sad to see it melt. Not me!

  17. fernleygirl says:

The Department of Homeland Security’s civil rights watchdog has concluded that travelers along the nation’s borders may have their electronics seized and the contents of those devices examined for any reason whatsoever — all in the name of national security.

According to legal precedent, the Fourth Amendment — the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures — does not apply along the border. By the way, the government contends the Fourth-Amendment-Free Zone stretches 100 miles inland from the nation’s actual border.

  18. cjzak says:

Katie that is interesting about the DC rally. I am really tempted to go. It would be so great if they got a lot of people there. But it would also be a place for the other side to start something very unpleasant. At least no one would be bringing firearms as they are banned in DC. There could be 10 million people there and the msm wouldn’t report that ‘thousands’ were there like they did for the 9/12 rally. I am going to look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

  19. cjzak says:

Jr that sounds like a yummy way to cure what ails you. Bet it makes for a nice relaxed evening and I hope it works!

  20. cjzak says:

Looks like CA wants to outdo NY on the gun control issue. Wow, why is anyone still living in this state? Or NY for that matter.

  21. cjzak says:

This is funny. A take off on the ‘God made a Farmer’ Super Bowl ad. Clever people still exist in dumbed down America.

  22. Dora says:

Good Morning Everyone. I’m still here. Actually, it was very windy last night. For a while the lights were blinking like crazy. Tom and I went to bed early and brought our little flashlights in with us to leave on the night table. I thought for sure I was going to wake up in a dark house, but I was lucky again.

I just realized that I shouldn’t talk so soon. I just heard a gust of wind that sounded like a freight train going through my back yard, while at the same time the kitchen lights blinked again. I guess I’m not completely safe yet, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed

Looking outside, I see that everything is covered with snow and ice. It all looks so pretty sparkling in the moonlight. It seems to have stopped falling. I don’t know if this is the end of this storm or if there will be more snow later. I guess I will have to wait and see.

jr I am glad to see that you are back. Those Seagrams Margaritas are better than any over-the-counter cough medicine you can buy in the store. Have one for me. :-)

  23. Dora says:

Katie thanks for posting that information about the rally. At first glance it sounds like something the local Tea Party members would be delighted to attend. The organizers would already be collecting money to rent a bus. Unfortunately, by now many of them have lost their enthusiasm for these activities. After being totally ignored during the 9/12 rally, the Glen Beck rally, as well as all the Life Marches, so many folks just don’t think it is worth the time any more. I know we should never give up hope, but it is just human nature to become frustrated.

I have my name on a ‘meet-up’ list, but I hardly get mail from them any longer. Nothing is being planned. The people from the Tea Party who I once kept in daily contact with are dropping out. I haven’t heard from them since the last election. In this conservative area in which I live, I’m afraid that there is an overwhelming sense of depression and despair.

Later I will send the rally information to some of my old Tea Party acquaintances. Just possibly it will cut through the doom and gloom and start another spark of excitement. Such a rally would be a great way to pick up where we left off last year. At least I’ll give it a try.

  24. Dora says:

This is what “Forward” looks like. Fast forward, even.

President Barack Obama’s campaign slogan is springing to life in a surge of executive directives and agency rule-making that touch many of the affairs of government.

  25. Dora says:

I’m afraid I have to renew my assessment of the weather conditions. Hubby just got up and asked me if I had looked out the front door. I hadn’t. I was looking out the back windows when I described seeing the ice shining in the moonlight. The front is a different story!

Our outside front door opens outward, but the blowing snow has formed a drift of at least 2 feet pushing against it. It can not be opened. We have side doors, but walking the length of the driveway in over a foot of snow and ice is going to be difficult. And it has started snowing again!

Good Grief! We are trapped inside! Help!

Well, at least we still have power. Speaking of which – the coffee is ready. :-)

  26. Dora says:

I wish I could attend this one, but Albany is so far away from my home in L.I.

Albany, NY- Thousands of concerned New Yorkers from around the state will gather on the West side of the NYS Capitol in Albany on Tuesday, February 12th from 11-2 to voice their concerns over the SAFE Act and support the Second Amendment. This event is being sponsored by many pro-Second Amendment Groups, including turn Albany Upside Down, the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association (NYSRPA), and S.C.O.P.E.

  27. jrCarolinas says:

Glad to hear you did not lose power Dora. Just heard that parts of LI got 30 inches. Also, watched cars stalled everywhere on the LI expressway. People just don’t listen do they. I have a cousin who lives in CT and they have over 38 inches and still counting. I only remember one really bad storm like that here in my area in 1973. We had snow drifts that were up to my waist between the house and the garage which was a distance of about 50 feet. The driveway to the road had 2 feet and it took me and my Mom 3 days to shovel out to get to the road. The farmer down the road did plow the road out front to the main road because the state did nothing. So once that was done we were able to get out to get to the stores.

Feeling a tad better this morning and I slept really well. But I woke up in the middle of the night with my bed clothes soaked again from sweating and am still sweating. Seems to be all in my nose and my ears are popping. Guess I will try a few more margaritas today and see if I can totally knock this mess out as conventional meds just aren’t cutting it.

  28. cjzak says:

Morning. We are snow covered and very cold at the moment, but everyone is moving around and all is open. It was windy last night for awile but not bad. I think the system was just blowing itself out of the area and heading east. It is supposed to be a fairly nice day, just cold. I think we are going downtown to watch a pod hockey tournament. My son in law is playing. It is more like a winter fair though so there will be lots of things going on. They haven’t been able to have this the last couple years because the weather was too warm. They got a good weekend for it this year.

Funny thing is the temps are going up and by Mon. are supposed to be in the 40s and raining. Sheeesh. I think there maybe some flooding with all this snow around.

Glad you are safe Dora. Looks like you got more than we did especially with the winds involved. Hope it goes away quickly. Cuomo is on saying LI got the worst of it in NYS. Not good. People stranded on the LI expressway. How are the people who have not recovered from Sandy doing? Stay inside Dora and I sure hope you don’t lose power. Cuomo says he is helping out CT and MA as they were hit much harder than NY. Help the Sandy people Cuomo.

  29. fernleygirl says:

    Dora and cj,

So happy to see you were both able to check in with us this morning.
Hubby was in the midst of the storm last night……….it took him 5 1/2 hours to drive 48 miles. Lots of road closures and detours until he got out of the worst of it. I feel soooo much better now that I know everyone is safe!

And now it looks like Troy may be getting some severe weather in the next few days. :(
Orly Taitz’s eligibility lawsuit in CA has been reinstated. A copy of the judge’s order is at the bottom of the article:

  30. cjzak says:

Wow Dr. Ben Carson has become a number one celebrity across the internet. It is amazing how many people are so in desperate need for someone like this to lead us out of the darkness. I think he’d get elected in a landslide even over Hillary if he ran for Pres. The thugs are probably frantically going through his background as we speak trying to find some way to kill his reputation asap. This is the same kind of person Sarah was to the regime and shadow people. His refreshing honesty, integrity, work ethic, background story, success, humanity, charity, love of country and Constitution and his reliance on his GOD are major threats to all the evil being foisted on this nation by these evil Satan minions. Someone commented on another blog that it was like seeing God vs Satan on the stage at the prayer breakfast. Wonderful analogy. He is going to debate Obama lover Austin Goolsbey on Hannity some time this week. It will be a very good thing to watch and Hannity will get huge ratings when it happens I bet. Cannot wait to see it.

  31. cabbyaz says:

Glad to hear from Dora that they are keeping warm in spite of all of the snow. Hope the power stays on. Wow, Cj, you guys are brave to be getting out and about in all of that snow, but I guess you folks up Buffalo way are used to it.

Jr, I just wish you could shake this rotten bug and get some relief. Stay warm and dry!

This seems to be spreading like wildfire across the net:

On Tom Trento’s radio show today, former FBI agent, John Guandolo, who wrote the first Muslim Brotherhood training manual for the FBI, outs John Brennan, Obama’s nominee for CIA Director, as having converted to Islam while working in Saudi Arabia.
I wish we had better verification, but I wouldn’t doubt it at all. If it is true and he is nominated as CIA director, we are in really deep do-do. That could explain his comments several years ago about terrorism not being the product of Islam, or something similar. How slick for Bummer to put one of his own in that position. This would also go right along with all of the other top offices being infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood. If anyone in the Senate objected, they would be labeled as bigoted against a “religion”. That is how devious Islam is – cloaking itself as a religion when actually it is a system of totalitarian government.

  32. jrCarolinas says:

Fernley, I was so hoping your hubby was not on the east coast, but guess he was. Glad that he is safe and sound. I know how much you worry over his travels as I did the same thing when my son was driving cross country for 2 years.

You all know that if GW was still prez that he would be up for impeachment over all that is taking place, especially on the Benghazi incident. What has happened that makes zero immune to all that is taking place?? Why are they so afraid??? Because he is 1/4 black??? I say BS. Let the crap hit the fan because either way it will result in a civil war in this country.

  33. jrCarolinas says:

  36. cabbyaz says:

I meant to include Gus in the above.

  37. Dora says:

We are slowly digging out. It took a while for us to force the front door open to the point where Tom could squeeze out, but we did it. As I watched him walking around outside in knee deep snow carrying a shovel, I had to laugh. He looked comical. Once he made it to the garage and was able to reach the electric snow blower, things got much better. He cleared the front steps, as well as a path down the walk to the street. We aren’t going anyplace today, but I feel better knowing that the path is clear. The feeling of being trapped was becoming claustrophobic.

The Sandy victims are having a rough time. Many of the people in Staten Island and Far Rockaway are still living in damaged homes and have no heat. Unbelievable, isn’t it? Mayor Bloomberg set up a special phone number for those who need shelter. I feel badly for them. After the initial photo-ops by the politicians, they have been totally ignored and neglected. It makes you want to scream!

cjzak in regard to Gov. Cuomo – the best thing he can do to help everybody is to resign from office.

  38. cjzak says:

Cabby thanks for those pictures! Many dogs just love the snow, but then they can find joy and play almost anywhere their humans are. Plenty of Gus’s cousins in those pictures and even a Bernese for Katie. So good to see then having so much fun.

  39. Katie says:

Seriously. Is there anything the makes you smile more than a dog playing in the snow? Sometimes I envy them…they just live for the moment.

Maybe we could do a thread by sending our favorite pictures of our dogs in the snow to Judy? Just a thought. Trust me…I could fill up a whole blog with mine. Would love to see yours, too.

Wanna know Cuomo’s worst nightmare? Technology will always be faster than the tyrants now. You’ll want to read this!

  49. cjzak says:

Timmy Geithner was a tax cheat supposedly and now the new Treasury Sec. nominee has money over in the infamous Cayman islands to avoid taxes. Wasn’t it Obama and co. who criticized all the wealthy people who put their money over there as being unAmerican tax evaders? Didn’t Obama and co. charge Romney with that accusation during the campaign like he was some dastardly villain who had some nerve running for Pres. when his investments included money in the Cayman Is. via an investment fund???? Yep another Demoncrat example of do as I say not as I do and we never have to follow the same rules as you because we are the rulers and the rest of you who don’t agree with our ideas are just baaaad citizens and need to be punished–or something like that. What flaming hypocrites these guys are all the way around in everything they do.

  50. cjzak says:

I knew it. Someone is messing with the program that created us. They must have put a virus in that allowed Obama to screw things up. This is kind of mind bending stuff but I guess it could be true. At least they have to acknowledge we were created by some very high order intelligence. Otherwise known to most of us as God, IMO.

  51. Dora says:

Good Morning Patriots. It is still winter here. The temperature is only 18 degrees this morning. That’s not going to do a thing to melt the snow.

I didn’t step out of the house all day yesterday. Boring. There is just too much snow around. Most of the stores in the area were closed anyway. I didn’t even get mail. And I thought the mail was delivered in all kinds of weather. Not any more, I guess.

I am definitely going to try to get out for a while later. If the library is open, and I can get to it, I am going to see if they have the DVD “Gifted Hands: The Story of Dr. Ben Carson”. I’d like to see it. If it is not there, I will order it. The man is becoming quite a big hit. Just a week ago I had never heard of him.

  54. Dora says:

David Petraeus was betrayed by his own bodyguards and vengeful high-ranking enemies in the CIA, who made sure his affair with his biographer was exposed to the public, a new book claims.

MailOnline can reveal a new angle on the story that rocked Washington last fall. It comes from two retired special operations commandos – a Navy SEAL and a Green Beret – who say they discovered a plot against the former CIA director while doing research about the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

  55. cjzak says:

It seems the attacks on Benghazi came right out of the WH via Brennan who was given free rein from Obama to do some covert things in Libya. Hmmmmm, wonder how they will try and wiggle out of this one. Also it lets Hillary off the hook and probably Pannetta too. CIA is a hornet’s nest as usual.

  56. cjzak says:

Well that above post doesn’t really indicate Hillary is absolved. When the attack came, she should have done something ASAP as should have Panetta. She also should have provided more security before the attack as we all know .

What it does show though is a Pres. who absents himself from his job. He turned over power to Brennan and either didn’t monitor what was going on or he did know and encouraged it. Either way he wasn’t doing his job just like he wasn’t when the attacks occurred and he went to bed. He is incompetent or worse complicit. This is major grounds for impeachment but I bet he skates free again. Let’s watch the msm hide this story too. Congress needs to stop this man right now, but they are cowards and will bluster and sputter furiously and then do nothing. A repub Pres. would be long gone but then we all know that story. Bet Brennan gets confirmed too unless he takes his name out himself.

  60. Dora says:

The News Just Keeps Getting Worse – And More Frightening!

In an important pre-Christmas action that received scant media attention, President Obama announced appointments to a number of key administrative posts, including nine members of the President’s Global Development Council, an organization he created by executive order one year ago, on February 9, 2012. The appointments will turn out to be very important as they pertain to the dispersal of billions of dollars in foreign aid, particularly when it comes to promoting programs and policies of the United Nations on abortion, population control, homosexual practices, condom distribution, Agenda 21, “sustainable development,” “green energy,” wealth redistribution, and other controversial issues.

  61. cabbyaz says:

What a courageous little piggy! Yesterday Animal Planet had a litter of miniature pot bellied piglets featured on one of their “Too Cute” programs. They said that pigs are among the smartest animals. I just lub ‘em!

Speaking of cute cats, have you seen that ad for an automatic kitty-litter box where this darling cat, speaking with a man’s voice, says something like this to the litter box, “You just keep on doing your business, because I’m sure going to keep on doing mine.” I get a kick out of that every time I see it.

  62. cabbyaz says:

I wonder what effect, if any, this newest revelation about Brennan’s “private” Libyan operation out of the W.H. will have on the Senate’s vote. That book is going to be available within a few days as an e-book, so knowledge imparted therein could spread far and wide very quickly. It sounds as though the authors are credible, and their account makes sense. They certainly speak as insiders. The “book” is only 83 pages long, if I remember correctly.

  66. fernleygirl says:

I am FREAKED OUT. I had the local news on while I was working and there was a breaking news alert. There was a gang shooting three houses away from my daughter’s house. I called my daughter and she said my granddaughter heard the gunfire and saw the shooters running away from the crime scene. She’s being interviewed by the police right now. I’ve been begging them to move out of Reno for several years now because it’s become such a huge drug distribution center, but they can’t afford to leave because their house is sooooo upside down. What if there’s some type of retribution shooting in the area? I told them they could come out here and spend the night but they don’t want to. I guess there’s nothing else I can do……..except worry.

  67. cynkading says:

So lifting you and yours up in prayer Fernely. I would just be beside myself.

  68. cynkading says:

We are sick once again at my house. It seems this norovirus just will not leave our area.

    That is all……………………………..

  69. cjzak says:

Wow Fernely. That is scary. You must feel so helpless. Hopefully some way will be found so they can move out of there. That is sure too close to them to not be really afraid to even go out.

Cynka that is awful that you guys keep getting sick. Hope you all feel better soon and get that darn bug out of there.

Prayers heading west for you both and your families.

  70. cjzak says:

Jr, Hope that you are getting out from under your severe health problems, too.

Cj, It was another afternoon of Monk. A two-parter where Monk is poisoned and learns that Trudy had a daughter before he married her is one of the best, imo. A corrupt judge was involved but he shot himself before he could be brought to justice. Have you seen that one?

Good Morning Everyone. Oh Fernley – what awful news! I can’t even imagine how frightened you are. It must be like watching a TV movie that has come to life. My prayers are with you and your family.

Prayers for Cynka too. I’m sorry you and Hubby are feeling sick again. Once the bug gets into the house it just doesn’t want to leave. Tom feels much better than he did a few weeks ago, but he still has a cough that never completely left him. I have a feeling we will have to wait for spring to arrive before everyone is feeling well again.

I notice that jr hasn’t been on since yesterday morning. I hope she is not feeling worse. I’ll put her on my prayer list too.

A lot of special prayers being said lately. I hope that someone is listening.

Yesterday Weaselzippers covered the story of the new book coming out about Petraeus.

It has already been mentioned by the Heyokas, but what I found interesting on the WZ site is one of the comments following the story. I don’t know if there is any truth to it, but it sure gives a person something to think about. It could be one more step in connecting the dots.

    Here it is:

“Brennan is little barry dunham’s CIA “handler.” Brennan is a major player in the One World cabal. barry is not picking Brennan. Brennan picked barry a long time ago, because he and his ilk knew that the liberal left would fall for the image that was created of a genius, multiracial, multicultural hipster. In reality, barry is a drug addled, imbecilic sodomite. But hey, the trickery worked and the foxes are firmly entrenched in the hen house”.

According to the Prophecies of St. Malachy, Pope Benedict XVI is the penultimate pope.

Here is his prediction for the last one:
In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oues in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis ciuitas septicollis diruetur, & Iudex tremêdus iudicabit populum suum. Finis.
(In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.)

If the next pope selected by the curch is called Peter – we are at the end.

  82. Dora says:

    I meant ‘church’ of course.

Fernley, my heart goes out to you and your daughter and her family. How frightening that your grand daughter witnessed a portion of it. I pray for their safety.

Cynka- I am sorry that sickness has again visited your house. I did not have the Norovirus, thankfully, just a very bad cold. EAT ACTIVIA to get your insides back to normal with the correct bacteria. My brother’s gastroenterologist told him to stay away from over the counter probiotics and eat yogurt instead. Get Well Soon

Dora you had it right the first time – WE ARE AT THE END and also the ending of the church age. But they have predicted such before and thus far it has not happened; but who knows this time. Bottom line – it is not a good sign. I wonder what the new Pope will call himself as they are the ones who select their names.

Well if the new one picks Peter I think we should all pray harder thane ver before that we will be saved in the eyes of the Lord. I am not sure if I’ll make the cut, but I will darn sure do my best for me and my family. Very thought provoking that is for sure.

Thanks for the prayers. I had a very restless night.

That’s NOT good…….I hope you all recover quickly.

I love the dogs sledding video! When I lived in Truckee we had a neighbor with a Great Pyrenees. I’ve never seen a dog that could figure out as many ways to have fun in the snow as he did. He’d tunnel into the snow banks left by the plows, jump off my parking deck into the snow banks (imagine the dog competitions where they jump into the water for distance), and he loved to run next to the kids when they’d sled down the street. They had the sleds that looked like over-sized Frisbees, and when they’d get to the bottom of the hill he’d pick one of them up with his mouth and run back up the hill at breakneck speed. When he got to the top he’d plop the sled down, and get that look that dogs always get when they KNOW they did something cute. Awesome dog.

    On Obamacare housing:

I remember reading about that topic on a RE site a few years ago. The legislation will PREVENT you from selling your house until you make all the repairs/remodeling required by Zero & Co. No fixie, no sellie. Even if you can’t rub two dimes together to make your home compliant.

Fernley – I hope things calm down and life returns to normal for your daughter. Whatever “normal” is these days. Sad to say, it’s not just in her neighborhood.

On Saturday I attended a presentation by our Sheriff, who talked in length about the effects and ramifications of drugs, specifically the horrible amendment to our state constitution legalizing possession of pot. It is such a convoluted mess and turns law enforcement upside down, and puts employers into a no win situation. A real eye opener for me was to learn that they busted a MASSIVE grow operation tied to the mexican cartels – less than 4 miles from my home! This is a rural county that is about as All-American as you can find.

He said that dispatch operators are now trained to ask one question before any other. Not if weapons are involved, but if drugs or alcohol are involved. And without fail, the answer is always one or the other. He said if he grandma was on her last days and the only thing that could help her was smoking pot, he’d be all for it. But it’s now insidious and the “unintended consequences” are devastating for our society, and we’re only beginning to feel it.

I think it’s safe to say that we have no idea how much it has invaded our neighborhoods and the harm it’s doing to so much.

  92. Katie says:

Re: the whole Pope issue. Here’s another thing to consider. Please know this isn’t intended to offend anyone, but the Vatican is just as political as any government. Over the last few years, I’ve read a lot about their role in the NWO. Much like we separate real Americans from the govt, like we separate republicans from the GOP machine, like we separate democrats from the marxist machine, catholics aren’t the Vatican.

So if a “Peter” is named, consider a wag the dog scenario. If you wanted to create chaos and have hundreds of millions of people panic believing the end is near, what better way than follow the narrative that would create a self-fulfilling prophecy?

  93. cjzak says:

Well here’s one candidate. Guess waht his name is? From Steve Quale’s site.

Last successor, Peter Romanus? Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Archbishop emeritus of Cape Coast (Ghana), was born on 11 October 1948 in Wassaw Nsuta, Ghana. He was ordained for the Diocese of Cape Coast on 20 July 1975 and holds a doctorate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome. From 1975-1976 and 1980-1981, he served as staff member at St Theresa’s Minor Seminary, and from 1981-1987 as staff member at St Peter’s Major Seminary. On 6 October 1992 he was appointed Archbishop of Cape Coast and was ordained on 27 March 1993. –Vatican

  94. cjzak says:

Katie a very plausible assumption. We are always cautioned to watch for the false prophets or the false flag event. I cannot figure out what is true about anything anymore. But you better believe that the Vatican IS involved in the NWO agenda. I have written on this before, in the days before Constantine, the Vatican was in charge of the govt and religion. They were knocked out of the govt side and have been trying ever since that time to regain total control.

Bottom line, it is all there in the scripture and one only has to open their eyes to see and understand.

    See LC’s newest article:

“This coming Peter of Rome, which is a mystery is going to be the false prophet, a miracle worker for the anti Christ.”

  102. cjzak says:

Fwiw: I have never seen, been a part of, read about or researched any organization that isn’t political or suffering from some form of corruption within it’s ranks. Some are large offenders like all governments and religions and some are small, but they all have issues with power struggles and hierarchy. Add in money and you have the complete recipe. It is just what we humans do. We are competitive by nature( left over ancient survival mode) and always want to beat the other guy especially if the other guy is currently in charge or the winner. We all want control. Not unusual at all and those of us who are Christian or giving souls by nature tend to tamp down those natural impulses of our human nature. We listen to God and try to show him we have learned, but even the best of us slip up sometimes and do something directly related to our base instincts. We are imperfect.Maybe that is God’s lesson for us as he made us with all the good and bad we hold inside. Maybe that is what we have to overcome to get to heaven.

Some of us are more civilized than others, but down deep we are all ruthless, working for our survival at the most basic level. It’s in the genes I think. Look at how the powers that be—the NWO folks—the shadow people are hell bent on ruling the world and have been for hundreds of years. Look at Islam. They wish to rule the world and subjugate the rest of us. For what purpose? I really don ‘t know why they want to do it. They just do and they don’t care how many people die in the process.

The ‘knowing’of human intelligence really puts us in a ruthless category other living creatures never experience and that is actually a good thing for the other creatures. They are ruthless because their lives are usually pure survival of the fittest and they do not ‘think or know or feel guilty’ about it. It is our cross to bear and we do not do a very good job of it in many cases. Good thing God is loving and forgiving of us but I think his patience wears thin and we will be punished like all bad children are. Our penance will be very painful before we are forgiven.

And then there are the truly evil beings who work for God’s ancient enemy. God fights the same things we do but on that larger scale and level. Our struggles mirror the constant battle between the Lord and Satan just on a human level.

Interesting concepts I studied in a religious Ed class years ago. I always thought it made sense and explained a lot of our problems. Human nature is flawed at all levels and it is a constant battle to try and ‘do good’ and fight evil. Sorry for the long comment. The discussion on the Catholic Church just jogged my memories of this long ago classroom subject.

  103. Dora says:

    Very well said cjzak.

  104. jrCarolinas says:

CJ – great comment – but you made one point, that while it makes good sense, I want to shed some light on. “We are imperfect.Maybe that is God’s lesson for us as he made us with all the good and bad we hold inside. Maybe that is what we have to overcome to get to heaven.”

We will never get to heaven by trying to overcome the good and bad inside of us, in other words our struggle with SIN. We will never be perfect in God’s eyes. We can never overcome that sinful nature on our own. Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. The only way is to accept the FREE gift of salvation through the grace offered by Jesus Christ. John 14:6 (KJV) – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. In other words through faith and believing in Jesus that he died on the cross to save us from our sins. Folks try to make people think it is something much harder than what it really is. It is only to BELIEVE and ask him to come into your life. We will always sin in these earthly bodies, but Jesus is our advocate with God the Father if we accept this gift. We will continue to sin because of our sinful nature but we are forgiven because of acceptance of the gift of salvation.

  105. Dora says:

A signal from above? Lightning hits St Peter’s hours after Pope Benedict stuns cardinals with first resignation in 600 years!

  106. cabbyaz says:

Jr, Amen and amen!! You presented the gospel (good news) in a nutshell!

I couldn’t help but think of what the Apostle Paul said in Romans, Chptr 3. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” (vs. 10 & 11)……”for all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (vs. 23 & 24).
“Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.” (vs.27)
The Bible says that even the good works of men in themselves are as filthy rags. (Isa. 64:6)

  107. cjzak says:

Thank you ladies of the Bible. You said it better than I did. The struggle will continue as ordained by God but the salvation is there by believing in Jesus. We still will fight good vs evil no matter what though just as our Lord does on our behalf, imo.

People are so desperate for someone who tells the truth, doesn’t yell or hammer his points, someone who gives answers on what to do, somone who believes in and trusts God. He touched so many things that concern all of us and that are a big mess right now. He gave solutions based on logic, as he said and common sense and working together without the biases and the power grabs that are so much a part of DC politicians. It would be such a wonderful, blessed American story if he ended up as Pres. I think we must realize the terror the left will bring down on him very soon if there is an inkling he would challenge Hillary and that he was popular with the people. Look what they did to Sarah and Allen West. They both are doing other important things, yes, but 2 good people who should have been able to run for the top were trashed and they are not in office anywhere. This guy reminds me of Jimmy Stewart and Mr. Smith Goes to Wash. Same kind of guy, no experience as a pol, honest and hardworking, captured citizens hearts. Who knows, maybe Hollywood magic could come true. I’m on board.

    Some more information on ZeroCare:

The next surprise is for parents who thought their kids would be covered by an employer. Sloppy wording in the law left that unclear until last week, when the IRS ruled that kids won’t be covered.

Starting in 2014, the law will require employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer coverage or pay a penalty. “Affordable” coverage, that is — meaning the employee can’t be told to contribute more than 9.5 percent of his salary. For example, a worker earning $40,000 a year cannot be required to pay more than $3.800.

But the law doesn’t specifically mandate family coverage — and now the administration says that won’t be required.

You can see why: If the lowest-cost family plan (again, two adults and three kids) is to run a whopping $20,000, and if the employee’s contribution is limited to $3,800, the employer’s tab would be $16,200 — adding about $7.40 an hour to the cost of that employee. Wisely, the IRS announced on Jan. 30 that employers won’t have to pay for dependents.

I love it! The good guys are using their own tactics against the presstitutes and showing them to be the stupid, vile, agenda-driven idiots that they are.

BUSTED! “Liberal hacks will believe anything… As long as it is an attack on Sarah Palin.
Palin-hating WaPo “cultural journalist” Suzi Parker slammed Sarah Palin today for taking a job with Aljazeera. Too bad it was bogus.”

I say everyone and I mean everyone needs to boycott this healthcare program. That will be one way to put it out of business. Change your W4 to break even on your amount of taxes and tell the IRS to buzz off on the healthcare penalty. Cancel your existing health insurance and pocket your money. Go to the emergency rooms and get treated and if forced to pay, send in $20.00 a month towards your bill.

  138. Katie says:

A man and a woman who had never met before, but who were both unhappily married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a transcontinental train.

Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, they were both very tired and fell asleep quickly, he in the upper berth and she in the lower.

At 1:00 AM, the man leaned down and gently woke the woman saying,………..’Ma’am, I’m sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the cupboard to get me a second blanket? I’m awfully cold’

‘I have a better idea,’ she replied ‘Just for tonight……let’s pretend that we’re married’

‘Wow!………………….That’s a great idea!’ he exclaimed..

‘Good,’ she replied…………….’Get your own f…ing blanket.’

After a moment of silence, ……………………he farted.

    The End

  139. For those of you “under the weather” have a smile on me.

A wife asks her husband, “Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk, and if they have avocados, get six.”

A short time later the husband comes back with six cartons of milk.

The wife asks him, “Why did you buy six cartons of milk?

    He replied, “They had avocados.”

If you’re a woman, I’m sure you’re going back to read it again!

Men will get it the first time.
My work here is done. :)

Just the opinion of a dumb ole country boy.

  162. jrCarolinas says:

 yes, CJ – saw the spiders – have to say there were a lot of them. I’m not afraid of spiders because I see them all the time down here where I live, even in the winter.

Well zero has been on for a few minutes and the only things I have heard are LIES and more LIES. Getting ready to turn it off and read a book.

I will put up a new post tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

  163. Katie says:

cjzak – Hugo? Not sure what you’re referring to…

Palin is leading a new hashtag on Twitter to make comments live on the sotu (we’re also watching the Dog Show) Lots of smart witty people adding their comments.

Katie wasn’t the Bernese beautiful? The St. Bernard was gorgeous too. Heck they all are terrific. Love these terriers. I don’t think I would have the energy for one of these guys though. Gus has more than I want. Only good thing is most of them are small. Lots of personality for all of this group.

  169. Katie says:

cj – I turned it on when the Boxer was being shown, so we missed the Berner! Saw it in the background a lot, and I’m ticked that it didn’t get in the finals. Really. Is there any breed more beautiful? I loved the Great Dane and the St. Bernard, too. The bigger the better as far as I’m concerned. I just don’t think I could handle the spit wads some breeds flick all over. Gross.

  170. Katie says:

btw – they’re reporting that a body believed to be Dorner has been removed from the burned cabin.

  171. cjzak says:

The affenpinscher won. Not my favorite. Don’t like their faces. But I loved the second place old English sheep dog! He was sooo cute.

  172. fernleygirl says:

I watched the dog show, too. One of each, please. :D
I loved the terriers, though. My first dog was an Airedale named Fluffy. Gimme a break on the name…….I got him for my 3rd birthday.
Lots of spiders around here, especially black widows…..I am a very skilled “smasher”. We have rattlesnakes, too. I’ll take the spiders over the snakes any day of the week. But jr has worse snakes than I do…… least the rattlers announce their presence……jr’s don’t.

  173. fernleygirl says:

Guess what one of the top “investments” of 2013 is so far? Most financial advisers or CNBC fans would quickly scan their screens for the top stock or commodity. They might come up with Aurizon Mines and others that gained around 20% or more.

Financial investments from the markets return absolute chicken feed when compared to how much .223 ammunition has increased: from 200% to 300% depending on the market. No capital gains taxes for small purchases. Yes, there are shipping and handling costs, but nonetheless, ammunition has been one of the best investment opportunities of the last 48 months. This is where preppers have a great advantage over traditional investors.

  175. Dora says:

cj – I noticed your post about the spiders. I didn’t click on the link because of the subject. The only thing that creeps me out as much as a bunch of raining spiders is obama making a speech. I didn’t watch that either. :-)

But, do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

  177. fernleygirl says:

I just heard on the news that Dorner’s wallet was found at the burned cabin. Really? A wafer-thin piece of plastic survived that inferno? A few days ago they said they found his wallet and badge somewhere else. I guess he could have taken his driver’s license out of his wallet, but it seems a bit odd that a wanted fugitive would care about keeping his ID with him. Something stinks. So does the fact that the whole thing conveniently wrapped up just moments before SOTU.

  178. Troy says:

The “killer” cop is still at large if no body was recovered and even if a crispy critter was found they would have to do DNA testing to make sure he didn’t kill someone and throw their corpse in there to be burnt beyond recognition.

Therefore, he is still at large.

  179. fernleygirl says:

    This is for Coot:

One fall day, Dave was out raking leaves when he noticed a hearse going down the street, followed by another hearse, followed by a man walking solemnly along, followed by a dog, and then about 200 men walking in single file.

Intrigued, Dave went up to the man following the second hearse and asked who was in the first one.

    “My wife,” the man replied.

“I’m sorry,” said Dave. “What happened to her?”

“My dog bit her and she died.”

Dave was taken aback. “And who’s in the second hearse?”

“My mother-in-law. My dog bit her too and she died as well.”

Dave asked,”Can I borrow your dog?”

The man replied, “Sure, get in line.”

  180. fernleygirl says:

Now the news is saying Dorner’s WALLET was found at the cabin. Two wallets????? This guy took the time to go out and buy another wallet after he left the other one behind?

This is from the 7th of February:

    And here’s today’s version:

  181. cjzak says:

Maybe he had a police wallet and a personal one? Who knows. I think he got away. Heard a report that there were footprints leading away from the cabin. I think both wallets were plants.

  182. cjzak says:

Dora I guess we have at least one good reason for living up here in the NE. We don’t have nearly the creepy crawlies as some people do. I hate spiders and cannot imagine them falling on my head in large groups. One would scare the heck out of me on my head. I’m a big wuss when it comes to those things. Snakes I can deal with, even other bugs. Spiders not so much.
