February 22, 1732 – December 14, 1799

What an amazing tribute that could be paid to anyone who was and is yet to be in this country.  What better way to remember President Washington than by some of the words he spoke:

“The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon”

“The foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing is a vice so mean and low that every person of sense and character detests and despises it”

“To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace”

“Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pain to bring it to light”

“It is far better to be alone than in bad company”

“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible”

“Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the hands of God”

“Let your heart feel for the afflictions and distress of everyone and let your hand give in proportion to your purse”

“Observe good faith and justice toward all nations.  Cultivate peace and harmony with all”

“If the freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep tot he slaughter”

“Guard against the postures of pretended patriotism”

“Happiness and moral duty are inseparably connected”

“The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference; they deserve a place of honor with all that is good”

“Labor to keep alive in your breast that little spark of celestial fire called conscience”

Quotes above were taken from The Kitt Swamp Christian Messenger (my church news letter) for the month of February 2012 honoring President Washington

“Satan has his sights on the United States of America!” Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has declared.

“Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.”

Have to say I concur. Also, I cannot for the life of me ever remember an election that brought Christianity in more than this election. Is it because we all see the handwriting on the wall??????

  2. cjzak says:

jr I agree. Christianity is hugely in the mix with this campaign. From being attacked to being defended, I also wonder why? My Church pastor, when I was around 12, –Communism was raging then in Russia, the Cold War etc.– gave a sermon that I never forgot one part of. He told us that we would have to decide one day if we were Christians at the point of a gun. That Christianity would be severely attacked and we would have to stand up and defend it and possibly face death to do so. He asked us if we had the faith and courage to face that as true Christians with a faith strong enough to not back away or deny our Christianity. I am wondering more and more if this is the time he was talking about.

Oh – I think we are all interested Nick.

Thanks for posting that great article. It gives us something to cheer about. And someone to root for.

Congratulations and good luck to you and your business partners.

Considering the topic of this thread (which is great) I thought you might be interested in reading this letter written by George Washington to his nephew on November 9th, 1787:

The letter recently sold at auction for $3,218,500.

Obama DID create jobs and boost the economy after all. Only not the way he was planning to, lol. This is great and I’m proud I was one of the numbers recorded. It’s good to see so many women getting involved and read their comments about it.

  7. cjzak says:

Nick, good to read that article about you. Good luck on the final outcome!!

  8. Cabby - AZ says:

Katie, the possibility that SCOTUS may be looking to postpone a final decision on Obamacare really takes the cake. Until 2016? I wonder if we will even have a country then? It seems that our nation – from the halls of congress to the court system is full of cowards and corruption.

With our country to be brought to a near-constitutional crisis, we shouldn’t be fooled that they have to wait for any alleged taxes to be actually collected. They could step in anytime they well please! I wonder what their payoff is? Or what threats have been made? Why, 2016 would be at the close of Obama’s second term, IF he gets it!

  9. jrCarolinas says:

Sounds like to me they “know” that BO will be re-elected with their 2016 projected date.

I guess the war on religion is heating up. Now a group of Jewish Obama supporters are telling his critics to shut up

“The Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee are once more advocating that the President’s critics shut up. Last time it was about Israel, this time it is about religion. … According to a letter signed by a variety of religious organizations, there should be less discussion of religion among those seeking political office.”

This is very depressing. The Jews in this country have as much to lose as the Christians do. Even more. Yet they defend Obama.

Oh I know there are plenty of liberal Christians who feel the same way. It confuses me, especially at this time when Obama has made his hatred toward all religions so obvious.

  16. jrCarolinas says:

Morning – well I see the news is again on the scarce side. Makes me wonder what is happening behind closed doors. I did read that BO says the reason gas prices are higher is because of “progress”. The first time he said it was because it was Bush’s fault. The man just cannot admit his policies are a failure and why people cannot see that is beyond me.

Dora – also where is the apology for all the Christians they have persecuted, which to me is much worse than burning a book.

  17. jrCarolinas says:

Good one Katie. I just don’t understand why that pink turban was even in the picture. Like I said it looked photoshopped and maybe (stretching that) it was BO’s hidden aura being projected in the picture.

You can’t make this stuff up.

  25. Cabby - AZ says:

Good things posted here today – I mean, “good” in the sense of true and necessary info.

Well, my heart has mixed feelings today. After about seventeen days of intense vigil, my dearest friend, Doris, has entered heaven to be forever with her Lord – at 6:55 AM today. I got the e-mail, and then there was a message from her husband. The e-mail said he is doing very well, and his voice sounded so on the phone. They will be taking her back to Ohio for burial in a plot which her father and mother had purchased years ago. He will keep me posted as to the graveside service, etc.

There is no way anyone could wish her back, because she had suffered much over the years. I believe in my heart that her husband will come through this victoriously, although there will be those moments of intense loss. Their family is strong and loving, and so that will help immensely. He is very needed, too, and that gives a person a reason for going on.

Thanks so much for the prayers of you Heyokas, as well as the love and hugs! Words cannot express my deepest feelings and appreciation for you all.

  26. Fernley Girl says:

Love and hugs to you too on the death of your friend. Even when we know in our minds it’s time for the ones we love to join our heavenly Father, our hearts still wish they would stay. I wish I could do more than offer words on a computer screen.

  27. Fernley Girl says:

This will happen to us when our debt to GDP ratio gets worse:

the Greek bailout #2 is nothing but a Greek-funded bailout of Europe’s insolvent banks… and the Greek constitution is about to be changed to reflect this!

  28. Fernley Girl says:

“According to Zero Hedge, even though the Dow is back at May 2008 levels, the Dow priced in gold is down a staggering 50 percent. While the Dow was busy getting back to a nominal break-even point from May 2008 to February 2012, gold prices surged from $900 to $1,750 per ounce. During the same period, silver prices increased from $17 to $34 per ounce.”

  29. Katie says:

Cabby – my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear friend, Doris. There’s never enough time with one you love.

The greatest gift she gave all of you is time to prepare and ease the sense of loss…never forget that. I hope her husband and family know that, too.

    Hugs coming your way!

  30. Cabby - AZ says:

Thanks, Fernley Girl, believe me your virtual hugs and good wishes ARE felt right through the computer screen!
In re. your post about the TRUE value of the Dow, then we could say that much is “smoke and mirrors”, because the inflationary effect is obscured, except to those who are paying attention. IOW, the rise in precious metals reveals how the supposed rise in the Dow is really “phantom” –
right up O’s alley. We are finding such “upward” trends in the unemployment statistics, due to fuzzy math. And so it will continue as we approach Nov. Lies, Lies, Lies – in one form or another. The wise will understand, while others will be sucked in and fooled. Sigh.

  31. Cabby - AZ says:

Katie, what you say is SO true about Doris giving a great gift in allowing us all time to prepare and adjust – thus easing the sense of loss. I believe that her husband and family know that now but will appreciate it even more in the days ahead. Hugs to you, too, and many thanks, as well!!

  32. jrCarolinas says:

Cabby, I know that words, however kind, can’t mend the heartache that you and Doris’s family are experiencing at this moment . Please know that those of us here who care and share your loss wish you and them comfort and peace of mind. Remember that God who is our comfort will always be as close as a prayer. More hugs are floating through this screen for you.

  33. Fernley Girl says:

Do you know that UE for Greek youth is 50%, or 20% for the whole population? Or that people are giving up their children for adoption, hoping the children will have a future? Thousands are living in the streets, in cardboard boxes. GDP has declined 14% in the last 5 years, and is expected to decline another 7% THIS YEAR alone.

Absolutely staggering information about the fate of Greece. It’s already been baked in the cake:

But down there in the small print of the Greek deal lies the nasty side for Greece. There lies a heavy penalty clause; Greece’s lenders will have the right to seize the gold reserves in the Bank of Greece under the terms of the new deal. Greece has 111 tonnes of gold. In other words Greece has given up on its “money in extremis”, gold. If they default they will have nowhere else to go. Its international assets will be seized and it will not be able to trade internationally at all.

  34. Fernley Girl says:

I went to California yesterday. Topped of the tank @ $4.11 before heading home. Glad I only needed half a tank. :D

  35. jrCarolinas says:

Fernley – I’m glad you only needed 1/2 tank too. But am afraid that $4.00 is coming to all our areas before March has passed.

  36. cjzak says:

Cabby may the Lord send his love and peace to you all. Even though expected, the loss of someone you love is very hard. I agree with Katie and others that Doris kept going just long enough to grant you all a measure of preparation and acceptance. My hugs and prayers are coming to you also.

  37. cjzak says:

Gas is rising so fast it’s just amazing. I cannot believe that more of us are not complaining to the rooftops about this.I paid $3.89 the other day. Rush said today that there was a gas station in Lake Buena Vista charging almost $6!!!! We should all be marching on DC demanding some relief by using our own God given USA resources. Geesh this is so frustrating that the Obamarama gets a pass on this. There has to be a point when Americans get mad enough to do something for goodness sake.

  38. Fernley Girl says:

Earlier this year I said the only thing that might save us from 4 more years of Zero could be $6.00 gas. Maybe a small price to pay?

  39. Dora says:

Earlier this year I said the only thing that might save us from 4 more years of Zero could be $6.00 gas. Maybe a small price to pay?
Obama is not going to accept responsibility.

Here is the part that makes my head explode – –
“when Carney was asked about the Keystone XL pipeline. He said that “the president did not turn down the Keystone pipeline,” arguing that Republicans prevented a full environmental review from taking place”.

He is going to blame the republicans for the high cost of gas! And you know what? The people are so brainwashed – may I say stupid? – that they will believe this man.

I think Obama and the democrats have made lying to the people a form of art. That’s not saying the republicans don’t lie. They just aren’t as good at it yet.

  40. Dora says:

Cabby I am so sorry to hear about your friend. It was a long and painful struggle, but at least she is at peace.

We now have to pray to the Lord to help heal the broken hearts left behind.

    I will do that.

  41. Katie says:

Baghdad Bob has been reincarnated. Meet Jay Carney.

  42. Fernley Girl says:

Obama may try to blame the R’s for high gas prices, but that doesn’t mean the voting public won’t blame Zero. Sitting presidents historically go tits up when the economy is bad.

  43. Katie says:

Wonder if the tits up rule applies to dicktators?

  44. cynkading says:

May God wrap his arms around this family and you during this time. I am very sorry for the loss of this very special lady. The Lord gave her enough time for her family to be able to say their goodbyes to her. The good news is she is with Jesus now…. Hugs

  45. Katie says:

Well, I’ve held my tongue as long as I could. This is so typical of the regime and the propagandists, and my fervent hope is that enough people see it for what it truly is. May this backfire BIG TIME on HBO (Helps Barack Obama), and to think I used to like Tom Hanks and pay to see his movies.

This thing is about to erupt. BIG TIME!

“John Nolte was a guest on the Dennis Miller show today to discuss the HBO smear-u-drama, Game Change. He spoke with Breitbart editor, Larry O’Conner, who was filling in for Miller.

Nolte announced that tomorrow, Big Hollywood will release an important article about the movie. He said that HBO had “played games with the Palin camp” by being dishonest while also trying to co-opt them in a way that would validate their movie. It’s a very interesting interview, I suggest listening to the whole thing:”

  46. Katie says:

““The ‘Game Change’ trailer doesn’t reflect anything I recall.” — Jason Recher, Advisor to the McCain Campaign who was with Governor Palin during nearly every waking moment of the ‘08 election.

When and how did we know that the upcoming HBO film “Game Change” would be a total and complete hit job produced only with destroying Sarah Palin in mind? Well, we knew that the moment the film was announced back in March of 2011. For starters, the material upon which the film is based, the book “Game Change,” written by left-wing political journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, is itself a hit-job, and a poorly sourced one at that.”

  47. Katie says:

HBO has turned into a super PAC – this is illegal!

“Last Saturday, the Los Angeles Times ran a front-page feature story on the upcoming HBO television film Game Change, and predicted that the movie, “was sure to reopen the wounds of that lost campaign and reignite controversy over Palin’s fitness for office and the wisdom of putting her on the ticket.”

That’s probably true because Big Hollywood has learned that most of the key players involved in the making of the film are leftists who almost exclusively support Democratic candidates including, of course, Barack Obama.

You’ll see that for yourself in the summary below, which includes political donations and what some of the key players said about the former Alaskan Governor.”

  48. Katie says:

I yelled at the top of my lungs after seeing The Undefeated that I was stunned to learn just how qualified Palin is, and how enormous the propaganda effort was/is to destroy her. I also warned that even if Palin was who you supported, if they could hide her spectacular record of accomplishment so well, they’d annihilate anyone else.

It’s time to push back and destroy these tactics.

  49. Katie says:

The lady is pissed and going head to head.

According to an article in the Washington Free Beacon, Governor Palin will push back against the HBO film, “Game Change,” and some of it’s last minute contents.

Former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is holding a conference call Wednesday evening to push back against the upcoming HBO movie Game Change—a dramatic account of the ’08 McCain-Palin ticket.

During the 5 p.m. conference call, Palin is expected to challenge the representation of her in the film, which is due to air on March 10. The film reportedly will focus on the choice of Palin as a vice-president candidate and the interpersonal conflicts in the campaign.

On the Sarah PAC website on Friday, Palin aides called the movie a “fiction.”

“HBO Studio heads decided they would generate more profit by inventing facts and scenes for the purpose of fictionalizing a history written by people with no personal knowledge of the situations they attempt to depict,” the statement read in part.

The film is being produced by prominent Hollywood Democratic donors.

The Washington Free Beacon will update the story after the conference call.

  50. Katie says:

Sure is a lot of fuss over an irrelevant mother of 5 from Alaska…

  51. nick@nite says:

    Speaking of Alaska

  52. Katie says:

“The Undefeated,” the 2011 documentary tracking Palin’s remarkable political ascent, makes its television debut March 11 on Reelzchannel.

“We’re thrilled to have yet another opportunity to bring a big story to viewers,” said Stan E. Hubbard, Reelzchannel CEO in a statement. “Sarah Palin is a charismatic figure who burst onto the political scene, and whatever your leanings, if you have any interest or curiosity in politics, social change or the Sarah Palin phenomenon, this is a must-see movie.”

“We are incredibly excited that REELZCHANNEL has made the courageous decision to present the network television premiere on the same weekend as the fictionalized hit-piece by HBO,” said Stephen K. Bannon, who also hosts KABC’s nationally syndicated radio show “The Victory Sessions,” in a statement. “‘The Undefeated’ is the story of ‘Everyman’ – of how through grit, determination and force of character one can make an impact in modern America.”

The film, which features political commentators Mark Levin, Andrew Breitbart and Tammy Bruce, follows Palin’s political career from its humble Alaskan roots to a place on Sen. John McCain’s presidential ticket.

“The Undefeated” will air at 8 p.m. EST March 11 on Reelzchannel. Encore Presentations for “The Undefeated” will be at 10 p.m. EST March 12 and 5:30 p.m. EST March 25.

Reelzchannel reaches more than 62 million homes on DirecTV, Dish Network, Verizon FiOS TV, AT&T U-verse and cable systems nationwide.

  53. Katie says:

A tiny taste. Never before have I watched a movie and been swamped with so many emotions. It opens your eyes and your mind like you cannot believe.

  54. Fernley Girl says:

Wonder if the tits up rule applies to dicktators?
probably not…..I’m sure the voting machines are well on their way to being programmed with the election results.

    First hand account from greece.

My wife has several close friends living in and around Athens and a few other places in greece. They recently told us that, Several of them who have jobs in various fields( civil servants, hotel staff, engineers, labourers, mechanics) have not been paid for several weeks to several months. They are obliged to continue going to work every day, because if they quit or rebel against their employers, they will simply NOT be paid the monies they are owed. Their employers can’t even tell them WHEN they will be paid.

Most of these people have banned together or are seeking help from family or friends. They are selling possesions to purchase food. There is alot of theft going on because alot of people don’t know what else to do to feed themselves and their families. Apparently the feeling is that the greek gov’t doesn’t want to hear or even give the impression that they care what the greek people have to say about the bailouts or their future. They are genuinely scared of the mobs and the destruction that they believe is coming. I have met some of these people in the past and they are Just like you and me. Regular people just trying to survive the chaos.

What does Sarah do that these lib/leftist cannot get her out of their heads? It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever witnessed. They just are possessed by her. I am soooo going to support any effort to get her in some part of our govt. if a repub gets the win. She can then go on from there to whatever office she chooses. She is the one person that scares the hell out of all of them. Maybe she is Joan of Arc reincarnated as some have said and she’s here to save America. I only wish it could have been this time.

  56. cynkading says:

Well, I am puny once again. Stupid stomach virus crud. I have been kind of lurking…..

No one has stated what their opinion of Miss Tickly’s book was. I read it and she makes alot of sense about the embossed seal. I have never heard of a debossed seal for anything and especially an important document. I am of the opinion that she is correct in that a legitimate document would have a raised seal. She really made some strong charges against several of the familiar names we have come to recognize. Polarik, Donofrio, Corsi, Farah, Miki Booth. I really do not know what to think. She has accused these people of being friends of O and that they are trying to give cover. Any thoughts??

  57. cynkading says:

They hate her because she is a child of light. Darkness cannot abide with light. They hate everything that is good and decent. Heck they hate themselves.. Bunch of miserable people.

  58. Katie says:

Well, guess I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer because I never noticed this. But it’s now showing up on both conservative sites and liberal sites, and after watching tonight’s debate, I have to agree.

Why doesn’t Paul challenge Romney on issues? He is mostly going after Santorum (because he’s leading in a lot of polls), a little on Gingrich, but doesn’t call out the most liberal, big governMITT candidate?

I also heard him slam Congress several times…it’s as if he doesn’t remember he’s been in Congress for nearly three decades! Bizarre.

  59. Cabby - AZ says:

    Cj, Jr, Cynka, Dora –
Thanks so much for your understanding and comforting words, plus prayers! God has been good (He is always good) to bring peace to the family and to my heart as well.

Cynka, I hurriedly read Miss Tickly’s book and have many reservations about it personally. Although I did do some volunteer work for her re. a dispute she had with WND and Joseph Farah concerning the seals, I am disappointed in the way she so blatantly trashes people who have had a sizable contribution to our cause. When one takes up matters of that nature, one must be careful to not be rash in one’s opinions. Frankly, for spending six months of research, I don’t see the results as being anything to be proud of, but that’s probably just me.

Jonah at CW’s does not agree with her work re. the seals, and Jonah has done a great deal of research, having actually received a certified Hawaiian birth certificate in regard to her husband, I believe, whereas, M. Tickly has not.

Another very important factor that M.Tickly reveals is that she is STILL a very strong liberal politically and was an active supporter of Hillary. The former tells me quite a bit about the platform she is working from. It only stands to reason that she would not see things the way we do. Of course, mistakes have been made in the attempts to get to the bottom of O’s secrecy, but I think it is cruel to attack others in the way she has.

  60. cjzak says:

Big red flag re Ms. Tickly—trashing Miki Booth. Booth is such a strong conservative. I cannot believe she’s an ‘Obot’. Also, being a Hillary supporter does give one pause as to what the real motive is here. Hillary could have crushed Obama with this eligibility issue in a heartbeat in 2008. She did not. This all gives me a big suspicion as to motive with this person MsT.

  61. Katie says:

I agree on the Ms. Tickly…something just isn’t adding up and my radar is on high alert.

Same with this – I just read a similar article on WaPo (boy did THAT hurt!), but rather than give them the traffic, here’s one on Daily Caller. Don’t do it, Rand. It’ll be the end of your credibility with conservatives.

  62. Cabby - AZ says:

Wow! Katie, that article about Rand and a possible VP position with Romney certainly fuels speculation. With politics the way it is today, I wouldn’t be surprised at anything. Romney is going to do anything to get elected. Anything.

I watched the debate last night, but the biggest surprise for me came after it was over.

When Ron Paul was being interviewed, John King mentioned – and Ron Paul affirmed – that he had the second highest amount of delegates. I was astonished! After all, he hasn’t even won a primary or caucus. And there are a lot more of them coming.

Is it possible that he still has a chance?

A federal judge ruled on Wednesday that Washington state cannot require pharmacists to dispense emergency contraceptives if to do so violates their religious beliefs. U.S. District Judge Ronald B. Leighton declared the state regulation unconstitutional because it trampled on pharmacists’ right to “conscientious objection.”

The ruling only applies to Washington state but is sure to reverberate nationally, as it comes in the midst of a roiling political debate about a new federal regulation mandating that all health insurance plans – even those sponsored by religious employers – provide free birth control.

Obama apologizes for Koran burning incident in Afghanistan

After several days of unrest in Afghanistan over the burning of Korans removed from detention facilities, President Obama has sent a note of apology to Hamid Karzai. Obama stresses that the destruction was inadvertent, and that those who made the “error” would be held accountable:

President Obama sent Afghan President Hamid Karzai a letter on Thursday apologizing for the alleged burning of Korans at a U.S. military base, Karzai’s office confirmed on its website.

“I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident,” Obama wrote. “I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies.”

The president concludes the letter: “The error was inadvertent; I assure you that we will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible.”

I know his motive was just to earn some re-election brownie points, but I’m still happy.

144 Million Deadly Smart Meters Deployed in the US Will Eventually Kill
    February 23, 2011

Some say depopulation is a myth — Where here is some news for you.

144 million Dangerous ‘Smart Meters’ have be deployed throughout the United States in a covert attempt to secretly coincide with Henry Kissinger’s National Security Study Memorandum 200 (NSSM 200), thus inducing depopulation.

The fact that we are now being engaged by militarized RF weapons (in plain sight) is disgusting and the American politicians should be held accountable for selling us out.

McCain to Introduce Cybersecurity Legislation Giving Even More Domestic Control to NSA, Military

During the Senate’s major hearing on cybersecurity last week, Senator John McCain, a Republican from Arizona, announced that the Republicans in the Senate would introduce a bill to compete with S. 2105, also known as the Cybersecurity Act of 2012.

McCain seeks to give the NSA and the military previously unimaginable powers over civilian networks, even further expanding the ludicrous power over American citizens given to the military under the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (NDAA).

I posted a video earlier about a $15T scam in the UK.

15T in cash, PLUS 750,000 metric tons of gold. According to metric-conversions.org, that’s a mind-numbing 24+ billion troy oz. of gold.

You can do the conversion here, if you like:

Pick a price for gold and multiply. Yikes!

The link provided under the video is here:

    An excerpt:

In April and May 2009, the situation started with the alleged transfer of $5 trillion to HSBC in the United Kingdom

It starts off apparently as the property of Yohannes Riyadi, who has some claims to be considered the richest man in the world. He would be if all the money that was owed to him was paid but I have seen some accounts of his showing that he owns $36 trillion in a bank. It is a ridiculous sum of money. However, $36 trillion would be consistent with the dynasty from which he comes and the fact that it had been effectively the emperors of Indo-China in times gone by. A lot of that money has been taken away from him, with his consent, by the American Treasury over the years for the specific purpose of helping to support the dollar.

Mr Riyadi has sent me a remarkable document dated February 2006 in which the American Government have called him to a meeting with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, which is neither the Federal Reserve nor a bank. It is a bit like “Celebrity Big Brother”. It has three names to describe it and none of them is true. This astonishing document purports to have been a meeting, which was witnessed by Mr Alan Greenspan, who signed for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York of which he was chairman, as well as chairman of the real Federal Reserve in Washington. It is signed by Mr Timothy Geithner as a witness on behalf of the International Monetary Fund. The IMF sent two witnesses, the other being Mr Yusuke Horiguchi. These gentlemen have signed as witnesses to the effect.

I posted this a few days ago:

    Golden Trust of Chiang Kai-shek

A tale of secret loans from Chiang Kai-Shek to the U.S. during the Great Depression, via Roosevelt.

I did a very brief search on Riyadi, and this looked interesting. He was named as one of the people detained taking “fake” bonds out of Japan in 2009.

What the hell is going on here? If our government, via Roosevelt, really did borrow money from Chiang Kai-shek to keep the U.S. afloat during the Great Depression, are they (Obama & Co.) now laundering the money through the international banking system to repay the debt? Where the hell is that 750000 metric tons of gold, and who did/does it belong to?

This reminder of the evil we are facing in the person of Obama came to me in a post on another blog. It was written in 2008. Read the whole thing and plant in your brain what this man is capable of. Cold, calculating and only concerned with his own power. He has no conscience. Read and remind yourself what he has done and what he will do. Then pass it on and work like hell to vote him out. 4 more years would be an agony we won’t survive as a nation.

The best question of the debate was when Newt asked John King why the media never questioned Obama about his support for infanticide. I was glad I was watching the debate live because I knew that question would never be a sound bite on the news. I was right.

This e-mail from The Catholic League is going around today. Bill Donohue is quite upset at the media bias. And I don’t blame him.

This is very disturbing. Even the most ardent abortion supporter has to admit that letting an infant die on the table or alone in a closet is really murder. Yet Obama believes in it and the media cover for him.

They are accessories as far as I am concerned!

Over-the-Air TV Catches Second Wind, Aided by Web

  85. jrCarolinas says:

Morning – I am sick of all this Santorum garbage. Folks I am beginning to see that there will be so many independents running that BO will be assured the victory. America will not survive 4 more years and I don’t mean totally because of BO either. We are a nation who has turned it’s back on God. All I can say is “get right with God” – time is running out. You can also look for a war in the middle east very very soon. Lot of trouble over at the Temple Mount just this morning.

RE: Katie’s post about Over the Air TV – I have been watching off converter box now for the last few months. If I can just get past not watching the Hallmark channel at night, I will be cutting the cord. Maybe if enough folks do this they will come down on their prices. When gas hits $5.00 or $6.00 that will be my cue because I will need that extra $100.00 to just put gas in my vehicle. So I am going to go ahead and get a couple more converter boxes before the price starts going up on them as well.

Well, now I remember what sunshine looks like. It’s that big bright thing in a blue sky, right?

Night before last I was awakened around 3 am by a SCREAMING wind, driving freezing rain at the house so hard I thought our roof was going to be picked off. The sleet was so furious I’m stunned we didn’t lose windows. Then came MORE snow on top of the ice, more wind, and now it looks like the Alaskan wilderness out there again. We’re about 2″ shy of setting the record for the most snow in Feb., and even that is a lie. We’ve blasted past it.

Much like the way this regime lies about the numbers, so too is Denver weather. When they opened DIA, they moved the “official” weather reporting site from downtown to the airport on the prairie. It doesn’t get as much snow out there. Katie doesn’t like winter and she’s getting a bit cranky about the whole thing.

And yes, I’d like some cheese with that whine…

Oh, CJ, every time I am reminded of just how terrible he is with respect to INFANTICIDE, as well as abortion, truly, I have to cry out to the Lord, “Oh, God, judge us! Judge us for this terrible sin against you.” We know that the righteous will suffer along with the ungodly, but we are in for dangerous times IF this country as a nation does not repent of its evil.

Cynka, Sorry to hear that you’ve been hit with a nasty bug again. May the Lord bring a speedy recovery! Your speaking about the wickedness that prevails reminds me of two Psalms that I read when overwhelmed. They are easy to remember – 37 and 73. I have to refer to them from time to time. I’m sure you are familiar with them, but here are a few verses:

Psa. 37 – Vs. 1 & 2 – Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness, for they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb.
Vs. 7, 9 & 10 – Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him, and patiently stay yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in the way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass……..For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord in the end shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the evildoer will be no more; though you look with care where he used to be, he will not be found.

Vs. 13-15 – The Lord laughs at the wicked; for He sees that their own day of defeat is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly. The sword of the wicked shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

    Psalm 73 is equally powerful.

You know I am right there with you on this. I am constantly being persuaded to concentrate on being available for God to use for His glory, whether by life or by death. Time is very short, and we may not even be able to publicly speak of some of what may be coming to pass. It may get to be too dangerous. Only God knows.

  89. jrCarolinas says:

Cabby – Thanks for the verses from Psalm. Don’t know if I sent those exact ones to my son, but they are something he also needs to read to help him overcome the wrong that was done against him. I also don’t know how much longer we will have to utter objections about our govt. I just never thought I would see this in my lifetime. What a mess we are in.

Katie looks like your bad weather is coming to me today in the form of tornadoes. My weather radio alert just came on and we are under a watch until 8:00 pm tonight. I just got in from down on the sound and it was very very windy. Too bad my little Cindy Lou is not with me now. She could hear tornadoes coming overhead and alert me to seek cover. Of course Pixie gets very nervous during storms so I will have to watch her to see if she gets overly nervous.

Dora, thanks for the info on deleting Google browser history. It didn’t seem as simple as the three-step illustration in your link. (I noticed that was for UK) The format was different for me, and it seemed as though Google was trying every which way to keep the “delete” part obscured.
I did, however, finally get it accomplished.

Katie, you have really been having some awful weather!! “This, too, shall pass” and let’s hope quickly.

I just got an e-mail today from my friend’s son. The word is that her hubby is doing remarkably well and is always giving out his special Bible study cassette to those who visit. He did the same to many doctors and nurses at the hospital, so he is a testimony to the grace that God gives. A memorial service will be held back in Ohio near their home in March. It is just too far and hard for me to travel, so I will send flowers and be there in spirit. Yesterday I awakened with a bad case of the blues, but getting back to work is good therapy. Almost more sad than Doris’ passing is the news of an elderly couple in our church who decided to “end it all” last Friday. It was a planned event, according to a note they left. I didn’t know them well at all, but news like that is so sad and puzzling. There was not any particular health problem apparently. Something was sorely missing. Sigh.

Yes, Cabby…..Everyone here saw all of the turmoil with FS over at CW’s…..Judy knew there were some good people commenting over there and offered them another place to go (here) with a friendlier environment…..We’re not a big important blog, but we like flying under the radar and we keep each other well informed here.

I’m really glad all of you nice ladies have this place to come to and enjoy each others company…..That was mine and Judy’s one and only intention when we had to throw this site together in a hurry.

Troy – your Mama Kitty looks like a big chameleon taking on the color of the wood. That’s a great picture! And a shock to my eyes to see ANYTHING that is green. Out here it’s white. White on white. And when that melts, it’s all yellow brown. I think I’m going to have a serious bout with Spring Fever this year…this winter is dragging on longer than most for us.

Glad to see you posting, and I get the “funk” part. We’re all in it. These days I rarely even look at Dr. K’s view – it’s been turned into a place where if you’re not swooning over Ron Paul, you get some nasty responses. Dr. Kate herself has changed – and it makes me sad. I assume it’s because her life is very stressed these days but I don’t need the extra aggravation. I cannot tolerate JS’s AGGRESSIVE attacks on “YOU PEOPLE! blah, blah, blah” so just don’t deal with it. She’s consumed Greg Goss’s blog, she consumed CW, and now Dr. Kate is letting her consume hers. I get that people are happy to have someone to support – that should be done on sites that are set up for that very reason. To invade a blog and consume it with aggressive posts makes me sick. JS isn’t the only one doing it at Dr. Kate’s either. Oh well, she’d put a stop to it if she didn’t like it I guess.

That to me is one of the magical things of this blog home. Not just the blog family members, but the wide variety of things that get posted. We never have to write “O/T” here…:-)

These days I’m focusing on my pups’ health, my health, dealing with the former-business-partner-idiot-now-turned-against-my-husband-idiot, and stocking the pantry (if you get my drift). Today we’re looking into options for ways to discontinue our satellite TV – I can think of other things to do with $1200 a year than supporting the crappola on TV.

Re: the LC post. The top two are Silver Certificates, the bottom one has the Fed Reserve Note. Odd…it’s always a guessing game with that one, so we’ll have to stay tuned.

  120. Katie says:

Troy – I’ll be happy to discuss my thoughts on Ron Paul, but don’t know if we really want to pull on that thread. Should it turn into a heated discussion, I’d feel awful and don’t want to infect this precious blog home. I know there are others on here who are supporters as well, so maybe we could communicate via email? Then again, neither of us are going to change our mind at this time so it really doesn’t matter. I consider you a trusted friend and would prefer to keep it that way.

It’s interesting – I am soundly in the category of “NONE of the ABOVE” which makes it easier to be objective about each of them, and what others say about them. I voted for Santorum in the caucus – it’s non-binding with no delegates so it was easy – and the only reason I did was to keep the primary process going. Not only are we learning more of the candidates than any time in the past, but it’s exposing the marxist to more eyes and minds.

Even though I’m not a Santorum supporter, reading what QL wrote about his wife having a late term abortion and dragging that baby’s corpse home makes me shudder in disgust. I just choose not to chat with people who are so abrasive and so denigrating of people who don’t worship the way they do.

I am looking for a candidate who has a record of doing, not just saying. All my life, I bought into the ones that SAID the right thing. This time, I’ve learned what they DID or DIDN’T DO, and sad to say, this group is a sorry bunch who talk the talk but haven’t walked the walk.

  121. Troy says:

RP is anything but in that group of establishment elitest….That’s why he is treated like a pariah and an outcast.

It sounds like if it can’t be Sarah then no one else will do…..I like Palin too and I wish she would run and I believe she would win, but she ain’t running…..Maybe she’ll emerge in a brokered convention….That would be exciting!

  122. Katie says:

  124. cjzak says:

Troy you have flowers blooming there! I’m jealous. Kitty looks very pretty sitting in that setting. She sounds like a very nice cat with a great personality. I think she’s just thankful she found a home and you. What kind of flowers are those anyway?

  125. Katie says:

Palin said she wasn’t going to ‘seek the GOP nomination’. I’m reading between the lines. She’s like a barracuda, circling her prey, grinning to show her teeth. Her prey is the “lamestream media”, the GOP establishment, and the marxists. When they least expect it, she’s going to strike. I think I understand what she’s going to do, but not ready to publicly state it yet.

Of all of us on this blog, I’ve followed and watched and studied her more than probably any others.

She’s pressing harder and harder…why? I’ll leave you to your own answers.

Dora, that’s horrible. I read somewhere(can’t remember where) about farmers that raise their animals and fowl in just super humane conditions and treat them with respect and then kill them in a humane way and with respect—sounds weird but I got the message. The animals produced much better tasting meat, eggs etc. and lived happy lives. Why can’t that be done on a large scale? Money that’s why. Always money. The final answer to every problem we have. Very sad but it would stop if we didn’t buy the products.

Yeah, I understand the “funky” feeling. There is no one of the candidates that I am really enthused about. The present climate of what’s continually happening with the Usurper, plus the less than attractive Repub candidates to deal with is overwhelming at times.

I have an amusing story to tell about “silver certificates” as depicted at Lame Cherry.
Many years ago my cousin gave me a five dollar bill for my birthday with the admonition that this was very special and to always keep it. She was into that sort of thing about coin collecting, etc., so I put it in a safe place. However, one day when we had to leave quite early for Phoenix I was short on pocket cash and grabbed that five dollars at the last minute.

On the way home we stopped at a Baskin-Robbins for ice cream and I gave the clerk that five dollar bill. Just a kid, she stood there and studied that bill and called another girl over to look at it. She said it looked different, so I hurriedly said, “Oh, please give that back to me and I’ll give you another one.” She did, and I still have that single five “silver certificate” stashed. It is not worth much more than the face value the last time I checked. :P

About candidate preferences and dislikes, I have decided not to trump anyone on a public blog. I have posted a couple of news items recently about the rumor re. a possible Paul and Romney relationship, but more as a matter of interest rather than a denigration of either one. I just feel sort of zapped at this point. I have already voted in the AZ primary, but not with enthusiasm. I am concerned over the fact that many are pushing for Rubio as VP. It seems that he is not an NBC either, so here we have another battle to fight possibly, because the electorate is so ill-informed.

With apologies for any copyright issues. This is SO perfectly written it should be read by EVERY American!!

First Obama Came for the Catholics…
    By Richard A. Viguerie | 2/24/12

The Obama administration’s recent moves to force religious institutions — particularly those associated with the Catholic Church — to pay for medical procedures that are contrary to church teaching has ignited a firestorm among Catholics. But the fear of where Obama’s flagrant violation of the Constitution is leading America is not limited to Catholics.

Non-believers and believers of many faiths recognize that this is an argument about fundamental freedoms, not the specifics of Catholic teachings.

A poll conducted by the respected Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies, found that 63 percent of voters would repeal the part of the Obama health care law that requires most individuals to have or purchase their own health insurance or pay a penalty on their federal income tax return if they don’t.

That result tracks very closely with a Gallup poll that found some 64 percent of Americans say big government will be the biggest threat to the country — and this is just one percentage point shy of the record high. But this is not some new phenomenon, for most of the past 30-years over half of Americans have seen big government as the biggest threat to the country.

These millions of Americans who oppose Obamacare recognize the wisdom of American Revolutionary Thomas Paine, who said, “The greatest tyrannies are always perpetrated in the name of the noblest causes.” But this concern about loss of freedom is not limited to the personal mandate in Obamacare – it is about the direction our society at large is taking, and President Obama’s oft-stated commitment to use big government to change America.

Americans instinctively understand that government is the enemy of freedom. They don’t have to have the truth of what Martin Niemoeller said about how tyranny gained the upper hand in Nazi Germany explained to them:

First they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak out – because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out -because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me!

Americans look at what is happening to freedom of religion and freedom of conscience under Barack Obama’s unconstitutional universal health care law and they fear that through this unapologetic breach of the Constitution, they will be next.

To bring those millions of Americans in on their side against the Obamacare mandate, church leaders must overcome their natural desire to argue the correctness of their teachings, and instead enlist their fellow citizens – both believers and non-believers – in defending their freedom from big government lawbreakers.

For some church leaders this won’t be easy. Those who long ago bought into the idea of the goodness of the welfare state may have a hard time accepting the fact that the oppression they are now suffering is merely the welfare state carried to its logical conclusion by President Obama.

Those church leaders who thought Obama’s promise of change wouldn’t affect them should heed Pastor Niemoller’s call now, and get on the side of constitutional government. If they do, they will show Americans that they understand that the loss of freedom of conscience threatens all of our other freedoms, and they will find millions of Americans – believers and non-believers alike – on their side. If they don’t they will have the distinction of being the first victims on Obama’s list.

  139. jrCarolinas says:

But the fear of where Obama’s flagrant violation of the Constitution is leading America is not limited to Catholics.

Amen to that. If he is re-elected you can count on advanced measures of persecution for being a Christian.

I find it amazing that for years I got up every day, got on the train, rode into the city and thought nothing of it, but now that I am retired it seems like such a long trip. I needed an extra cup of coffee this morning to give myself a boost. Age is a bummer.

Troy – that was so sweet what you said to all of us about: I’m really glad all of you nice ladies have this place to come to and enjoy each others company. Yes, that was our intent. A place away from home to vent, to share sorrows and good times, to laugh, to cry, to get crazy and just plain unwind. I can say that Heyokas has been a light at the end of the tunnel for me many times. I don’t expect replies to comments, it’s just a place to let my troubles/sorrows,happiness and yes, even pent up anger come to the surface. A sounding board if you wish. I truly do wish we all could meet in person. Oh well, maybe one of these days. I would be willing to travel anywhere that is central for all of us to do that, even just for a weekend before WWIII rocks our world. Speaking of which, I am headed back to Tunica, MS in March with my brother. He got another “free” trip so we are headed that way again. Maybe I can win a little something this go around :) Hey, it’s nice to dream.

    Morning, good people

Back among the living. Sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know I am a sporadic poster but in order not to let all the bad steal my joy, I have to sometimes back away. My good friend Brother John whom I have spoken about in the past. He is the friend who is an evangelist, Biblical archaeologist, and pastor, tells me to read the Bible dally to counter all of the negativity taking place. It keeps me bonded and insulates me from the harsh reality that is taking place. I have been studying from the book of Jeremiah and Isaiah for several months. To me it truly mirrors the United States. Even though I see destruction coming from all directions, I still keep focusing on God’s promises. He always has a remnant no matter what. He will see us through.

I have to say the past 4 years has been a faith builder for me. I see God’s hands everywhere. All through out the old testament, God has used many evil kings to do his will. O is being used by God Almighty whether he likes it or not. I get a little satisfaction knowing that little gem. God is beginning to judge the United States. We are living through some exciting times. Remember God personally chose us to be alive to see and be apart of these historical times. I get excited when I think how close we are to seeing Jesus face to face……

    Oil from algae: weird?

Newt Gingrich has been hitting Obama’s energy speech since the president delivered it Thursday, calling the speech funny enough to be on SNL and “something worthy of Leno or Letterman.”

Gingrich’s biggest talking point about Obama’s speech attacks the president for his embrace of investments in biofuels such as those made from algae.

He is referring to a point in Obama’s speech when the president said, “We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance known as algae.”

On Thursday night, Gingrich mocked the president’s speech in front of an Idaho crowd, by suggesting that he should take a bottle of algae with him and “go around and we can have the Obama solution.”

“And maybe what we ought to do at Newt.org is we ought to get t-shirts that say ‘You choose.’ Gingrich went on to suggest the slogans, ‘You have Newt: Drill here, Drill Now, Pay Less. You have Obama: Have Algae, Pay More, Be Weird.”

Morning. Very cold and windy still here with some snow falling. I’m not complaining too much though, as we’ve had a very tame winter here so far, unlike poor Katie and my sister out in Denver. Sure would like to be heading south for a bit however. Maybe at Easter we will take a short vacation. I think my husband could use one after his health issues lately.

Dora, sounds like a fun day for you both. It’s nice to be within a fairly short travel time to so many wonderful cultural things. NYC is a mega capital for that kind of stuff and the choices are unlimited. Interest in art is nothing to be shy about. I think it’s great that you can do all that when you want to. Have a great time!

Why is the USA and everyone of those countries willing to go into Libya and Syria but not take on the one country that is fomenting all the turmoil—-Iran and blast them good to end the problem for awhile? Something is rotten in Denmark as usual about all that. We’ll never get the straight story on any of this. I just pray we don’t lose more of our military personnel to another conflict. Bring them home and let the ME radicals destroy themselves and let Europe fend for itself re their oil. I know that’s not realistic because we are too much intertwined in it all, but that’s how I feel right about now. Even though I just said we should blast the real culprits, I’m really becoming more isolationist everyday. Neither thing is gonna happen but that’s how I feel.

  157. cjzak says:

re the algae thing, some years ago I was looking to invest in companies that were looking for alternative energy situations so I did alot of research into what was coming—solar, wind, natural gas, fuel cells and biofuels(algae, cooking oil etc). I have to say that his stuff isn’t so far-fetched as they(GOP) are making it seem. The solutions can work, but the big, big issue is that it costs sooooo much to produce these kinds of alternatives right now that it is totally impractical to switch from fossil fuel to these others anytime soon. Solar energy has been researched and produced for many uses for lots of years—probably longer than any other alternatives— and it still isn’t as cost effective per kilowatt as oil. Fuel cells are another idea that was really developed by NASA into an energy producer used in the shuttles. No pollution from their use. Lots of research and development, but again are really expensive to make as a viable product we all could afford. The storage and conversion media(or media that turn/breakdown the water molecules into the hydrogen) is still not cost effective and many products for this are incredibly expensive. I am simplifying this because I’m certainly no expert re fuelcells and their intricacies but they are really a very simple process in theory. We could all have a fuelcell sitting in our garages to power everything in our homes cheaply, safely and with no pollution issues in the future. Also, Hydrogen is unlimited in supply here on Earth.

Oil at present and for the forseeable future, is still cheaper than most everything else even though it is a market driven commodity now. Plus, to produce usable energy from these other things usually involves USING fossil fuel to manufacture them. So it’s a double problem. There must be a long term transition to these new energies and guess who should stay the heck out of it—-the feds. The private industries working on these new energy producers will do just fine figuring it out without taxpayer dollars funding them. In the meantime, use our own abundant natural fossil fuels, that We all OWN, here in America. Newt’s right about that one as is Ms. Palin. all imo.

As I was reading your post, Cynka, I’m audibly saying, “Yes, Yes,…Yes” This is exactly what is happening – just like we read in the Old Testament about how God used wicked leaders for His purposes. Then after He is through with them, He judges and destroys them. Sometimes God even refers to these wicked leaders as “My servants”….. “The things that were written aforetime were written for our learning….” We have that knowledge that the world cannot give us.

That is wonderful that you are growing so much in the Lord, because we have none other to turn to or keep us stable. When Mom was living we used to discuss these things (21 years ago), but of course we are SO much nearer the end than then. She used to say that we are living in the days that the prophets of old would have loved to have witnessed – the very culmination of the ages – the coming Day of the Lord. King of kings and Lord of lords!! What a day that will be when He rules and reigns! “Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.” (I’d better quit before going into orbit –

I hear you, Cj. When I see the Wounded Warrior ads on TV it just makes me heartsick. So many injured who will never live a normal life again…….. What really rips me apart is why in the world can’t our gub-mint take care of these brave men and women? Goodness knows, they are wasting money all of the time on things that are not needed, and then the people who have given themselves in the service of our country are at some point left to fend for themselves with the help of ordinary citizens. This is sinful, imho.

Then, of course, the next question comes, “For what?” After this latest episode with those raging Muslims attacking our soldiers in Afghanistan, I am saying, “Bring them home”. Oh, I, too, know it is not that easy at this point, but we are simply making fools of ourselves over there. The Soviets after ten years, or so, could not gain ground in that country. What makes us think that we can? Grrrrrh………. It makes me very angry to dwell on this dilemma we are in.
